Oral Roberts University is a private, coeducational university in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The university is affiliated with the tradition of Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity. This evangelical movement stresses the personal experience of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit’s supernatural activities, such as divine healing. American evangelist Oral Roberts founded the university in 1963, and it admitted its first students in 1965. The university’s athletic teams are known as the Golden Eagles.
