Adelaide, University of

Adelaide, University of, is an independent institution of higher learning in Adelaide, South Australia. The university was founded in 1874. It is the third oldest university in Australia, after the universities of Sydney (1850) and Melbourne (1854).

The University of Adelaide has four campuses: North Terrace, Roseworthy, Thebarton, and Waite. The Waite campus houses the biggest agricultural research complex in the Southern Hemisphere. The university’s residential colleges are Aquinas, Lincoln, St. Ann’s, St. Mark’s, and Kathleen Lumley at the North Terrace campus and Roseworthy at the Roseworthy campus. The National Wine Centre of Australia, which is affiliated with the university, offers wine-related study programs and is near the North Terrace campus.
