Macquarie University is an institution of higher education in New South Wales, Australia. It was founded in 1964. The university was named after Lachlan Macquarie, an early governor of the New South Wales colony.
Macquarie University offers both education and vocational training, and it encourages its students to be diverse in their choice of subjects.
