Houston Christian University is a private Christian institution of higher learning in Houston. It was established in 1960 as Houston Baptist College by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The college became Houston Baptist University in 1973. In 2022, the university was renamed Houston Christian University. The university’s athletic teams are called the Huskies.
