Australian National University

Australian National University is an institution of higher education in Canberra, Australia. It ranks among the world’s top universities. The university was founded in 1946. It is the only university in Australia created by an act of Parliament.

Australian National University began as a postgraduate research facility with four main institutes, including physics, medicine, social sciences, and Pacific studies. After merging with Canberra University College in 1960, Australian National University began offering both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The Canberra Institute of the Arts joined the Australian National University in 1992.

The university has seven colleges, each of which offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In addition to the main campus, the university also has other campuses and research facilities in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, and the Northern Territory.
