Wollongong, University of

Wollongong, University of, is an institution of higher education in Wollongong, in New South Wales, Australia. The university was founded in 1951 as a college of the University of New South Wales. It became independent in 1975. In 1982, the university merged with the Wollongong Institute of Higher Education, The University of Wollongong is one of the largest sites of information technology and telecommunications research in the Southern Hemisphere.

In addition to the Wollongong campus, the university’s other campuses in New South Wales are in Batemans Bay, Bega, Loftus, Moss Vale, Nowra, and Sydney.
