Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is an institution of higher education in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. The university’s history can be traced back to the establishment of the Brisbane School of Arts in 1848. It grew and joined with other teaching institutions, becoming the Queensland Institute of Technology in 1965. In 1989, it was granted university status and became the Queensland University of Technology. The university has three main campuses at Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove, and Caboolture.
Queensland University of Technology focuses on creative industries and innovation. It offers courses in such areas as information technology, building and planning, and languages. The institution is one of five Australian universities that make up the Australian Technology Network.
