Carolina Panthers are a professional football team that plays in the National Football League (NFL) . The team plays in the South Division of the National Football Conference. The Panthers play their home games in Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Panthers began playing in the NFL in 1995 as an expansion team. The team won seven games their first season, four more than any other first-year expansion team in NFL history. In their second season, the Panthers won 12 games and lost only 4, winning a division championship. In 2004, the team played in Super Bowl XXXVIII, but lost to the New England Patriots . The 2015 Panthers had a 15-1 regular season record and advanced to Super Bowl 50, but lost the game to the Denver Broncos .
