York, University of, is an institution of higher education in the city of York in the United Kingdom. It is one of a group of seven universities known as the new universities that were created in the early 1960’s.
The university’s main campus is in Heslington, on the outskirts of the city of York. A second campus, the King’s Manor, occupies a group of historic buildings in the city center.
