Juventus has won the Italian league title 36 times, more than any other club. The team won 9 consecutive league titles from the 2011-2012 season to the 2019-2020 season. In international competition, Juventus won the European Cup in 1985, the European Champions League in 1996, the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1984, the European Super Cup in 1984 and 1996, the World Club Cup in 1985 and 1996, and the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Cup in 1977, 1990, and 1993.

Since 1929, Juventus has played all but one season in Italy’s Serie A, the country’s top league. In 2006, the club was linked to match fixing to benefit gamblers and was stripped of its 2005 and 2006 league titles and relegated to the second division, Serie B. The team won the B league championship that year and by rule was promoted back to Serie A.
