Dallas Stars

Dallas Stars are a professional hockey team that plays in the National Hockey League (NHL) . The team competes in the Central Division of the Western Conference. The Stars play in the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The franchise originated as the Minnesota North Stars in the 1967-1968 season and moved to Dallas for the 1993-1994 season. From 1996 to 2006, the team won seven division titles, including five in a row under coach Ken Hitchcock from 1996-1997 to 2000-2001. The Stars won the Stanley Cup in the 1998-1999 season. The team advanced to the Stanley Cup finals again in 2000 and 2020, but lost both times. Leading players after the team moved to Dallas have included goalies Ed Belfour and Marty Turco, centers Mike Modano and Mike Ribeiro, defenseman Sergei Zubov, left wingers Jamie Benn and Brenden Morrow, and right winger Jere Lehtinen.
