Catherine, Princess of Wales (1982-…), is the name commonly used for the wife of Prince William of the United Kingdom. William, Prince of Wales, is the elder son of King Charles III, and the heir to the British throne. Catherine’s official title is Her Royal Highness, Catherine, Princess of Wales. Her other titles include Duchess of Cornwall, Cambridge, and Rothesay.
Catherine and William married in April 2011. Their eldest son, George Alexander Louis, who is second in line to the British throne, was born on July 22, 2013. Their daughter, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, was born on May 2, 2015. She is third in line to the throne. Another son, Louis Arthur Charles, was born on April 23, 2018. He is fourth in line to the throne.
Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, known as Kate, was born on Jan. 9, 1982, in Bucklebury, Berkshire, England. She is the eldest of three children of Michael and Carole Middleton. Kate’s parents are not part of the British peerage (nobility). She became the first commoner to marry a prince close to the British throne since Anne Hyde married the Duke of York (later King James II) in 1660.
Kate attended Marlborough College, a private school in Marlborough, Wiltshire, England. She then studied art history at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. She met William in 2001 at St. Andrews. Kate has worked as a model and an accessories buyer.
