Aaron Charles Rodgers was born on Dec. 2, 1983, in Chico, California. He was a star quarterback at Pleasant Valley High School in Chico. In 2002, he played at Butte College, a community college in Oroville, California, leading the team to the number two ranking in the country. He then transferred to the University of California at Berkeley, playing quarterback in 2003 and 2004. In 2004, he completed 23 consecutive passes in one game, an NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) record. He left after his junior year at California to play in the NFL. Green Bay selected Rodgers as the 24th player picked in the first round of the 2005 draft. The draft is the process in which NFL teams choose players, usually amateurs from college programs.

Rodgers became the starting quarterback for Green Bay in 2008 after Brett Favre, the long-time star quarterback of the Packers, left the team. Rodgers became the first NFL player to pass for more than 4,000 yards in each of his first two seasons as a starting quarterback. He led the NFL in touchdown passes in 2016 and 2020. In 2018, Rodgers set a new record of 402 consecutive passes without an interception, breaking Tom Brady’s record of 358 set in 2010-2011.
