Radcliffe, Daniel (1989-…), is a British motion-picture and stage actor. He is best known for his role as the boy wizard Harry Potter in the “Harry Potter” series of motion pictures. The films were based on a popular series of fantasy novels by the British author J. K. Rowling. The films were released in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Radcliffe played the character as he matured from an 11-year-old boy in the first film to a young man in the final film.

Daniel Jacob Radcliffe was born in London, England, on July 23, 1989. He began acting in school productions as a child. Radcliffe made his debut (first appearance) as a professional actor in the television movie David Copperfield (1999), based on the classic novel by the British author Charles Dickens . He played the title role. In 2001, Radcliffe had a small part in the film The Tailor of Panama. Later that year, he appeared as Harry Potter in the first film in the series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Radcliffe’s other movies include the drama December Boys and the TV drama My Boy Jack (both 2007); the horror film The Woman in Black (2012); the biographical film Kill Your Darlings (2013), in which he portrayed the American poet Allen Ginsberg; the romantic comedy What If (2013); the fantasy horror film Horns (2013); and the comedy thriller Now You See Me 2 and the adventure drama/comedy Swiss Army Man (both 2016). Radcliffe also acted in the British television series “A Young Doctor’s Notebook” (2012-2013).

Radcliffe has acted in a number of theater productions. In 2007, he made his professional stage debut in the drama Equus in London. Radcliffe has also appeared on Broadway, in Equus (2008-2009); How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (2011); The Cripple of Inishmaan (2014); and The Lifespan of a Fact (2018-2019).
