Kapoor, Kareena, << kah POOR, kah REEN uh >> (1980-…), is a popular Indian motion-picture actress. She is a member of a distinguished acting family in the Indian film industry, which is known as Bollywood . Her great-grandfather was the theater and film acting pioneer Prithviraj Kapoor. Her grandfather was the film actor, director, and producer Raj Kapoor . Her father, Randhir Kapoor, and her uncles, Rishi and Rajiv Kapoor, also became actors. Her sister, Karisma Kapoor, is an actress as well.
Kareena Kapoor has won a number of Filmfare Awards for acting. Filmfare Awards are presented annually for artistic and technical excellence in filmmaking in the Hindi language . The Indian magazine Filmfare presents the awards. In 2009, Kapoor appeared in the comedy-drama 3 Idiots, which became the highest-grossing Bollywood film up to that time.
Kareena Randhir Kapoor was born on Sept. 21, 1980, in Mumbai . She attended Government Law College in Mumbai for about a year. She then studied acting at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting School in Mumbai. In 2000, Kapoor made her motion-picture debut in the war drama Refugee. In 2004, she gained notice for her portrayal of a sex worker in the drama Chameli (2003).
