Shelton, Blake (1976-…), is a popular American country music singer and television personality. He has recorded many number-one country hits, and he has won a number of awards for his music. Shelton was a coach on the singing-competition television show “The Voice” from 2011 to 2023.
Blake Tollison Shelton was born on June 18, 1976, in Ada, Oklahoma. He began singing as a child and learned to play guitar before he was a teenager. At age 17, he moved to Nashville to pursue a singing career. Nashville is the center of the country music industry.
Shelton’s debut single, “Austin,” was released in 2001 and became a hit. It was included on his first album, Blake Shelton. The album also included the hits “All Over Me” and “Ol’ Red.” Shelton’s second and third albums, The Dreamer (2003) and Blake Shelton’s Barn & Grill (2004), were also hits. His other hit songs include “Hillbilly Bone” (2009); “All About Tonight” and “Who Are You When I’m Not Looking” (both 2010); “Honey Bee,” “God Gave Me You,” “Drink on It,” and “Over” (all 2011); and “I Lived It” (2018).
In 2007, Shelton was a judge on the American country music singing-competition TV show “Nashville Star.” He was also a judge that year on the American choir-competition TV show “Clash of the Choirs.” In 2022, Shelton began co-hosting the celebrity game show “Barmaggedon.”
In 2010, Shelton became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. He was married to the American country music singer Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015. In 2021, he married the American singer and television personality Gwen Stefani.
