Kaymer << KY mur >> , Martin (1984-…), is a German champion professional golfer . Kaymer has won two of professional golf’s four Grand Slam tournaments. He won the PGA Championship in 2010 and the United States Open in 2014. The other two Grand Slam tournaments are the Masters Tournament and the British Open . Kaymer is only the second German golfer, after Bernhard Langer, to win a Grand Slam event. Kaymer was ranked the number one player in the world for eight weeks in 2011.
Kaymer was born on Dec. 28, 1984, in Düsseldorf, Germany. He became a professional golfer in 2005. Kaymer joined the European Tour in 2007 and was named Rookie of the Year. He was the first German golfer to receive the award. He began playing in the United States in 2008 and officially joined the U.S. tour in 2013. In 2014, Kaymer won the Players Championship, the most prestigious professional tournament outside of the Grand Slam events.
