Evian Championship

Evian Championship is one of the five major tournaments in women’s professional golf. It is played each year at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France. The other major tournaments are the Chevron Championship, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, the United States Women’s Open, and the Women’s British Open. PGA stands for Professional Golfers’ Association.

The Evian Championship was founded in 1994 on the Ladies European Tour (LET) as the Evian Masters. Since 2000, it has been co-sanctioned by the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). In 2013, the tournament became the fifth women’s major, and its name was changed from the Evian Masters to the Evian Championship.
