Pumi

Pumi is a medium-sized herding dog recognizable for its thick, curly coat. It originated in Hungary in the 1600’s or 1700’s. The pumi is used to herd cattle, pigs, and sheep. It is alert, energetic, intelligent, and agile.

The pumi measures 15 to 18 1/2 inches (38 to 47 centimeters) tall at the withers (highest part of the back) and weighs 22 to 29 pounds (10 to 13 kilograms). Its coat may be black, white, fawn (light beige), or any shade of gray. It has a curling tail. The ears of the pumi are partially erect with the tips curled over.

Pumik (the plural of pumi) are attentive, loyal, and protective. They make great companions but require daily activity.
