Undertale

Undertale is an electronic role-playing game popular for its creative, often nonviolent, gameplay. Role-playing games emphasize problem-solving and character development, rather than fast action. Most role-playing games involve a great deal of combat, with the players having to fight and defeat a number of enemies. Undertale players can likewise fight their foes, but they can also dance, tell jokes, and interact in other ways. The player’s choices in this regard can change the way the game’s story unfolds.

Undertale takes place in a world where humans and monsters once lived side by side. The humans defeated the monsters in a war and banished them underground. The player takes on the role of a human who has discovered the monsters’ underground lair. The player interacts with the monsters while exploring their world. Combat involves an arcade-style minigame in which the player dodges attacks by the monster.

Undertale was created by the electronic game developer Toby Fox. It was first released as a computer game in 2015. The game has since become available on a number of video game consoles. A follow-up game, Deltarune, was released in 2018.
