Bryant, Kris (1992-…), is a star major league baseball player. Bryant plays for the Colorado Rockies of the National League (NL). From 2015 to 2021, he played third base and left field for the Chicago Cubs of the NL. In 2016, he helped lead the Cubs to the team’s first World Series victory in 108 years. Bryant earned National League Most Valuable Player honors that year. He batted .292, hit 39 home runs, batted in 102 runs, and led the league with 121 runs scored. The previous year, Bryant was honored as National League Rookie of the Year.
Kristopher Lee Bryant was born on Jan. 4, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a star baseball player for Bonanza High School in Las Vegas. The Toronto Blue Jays selected Bryant in the 18th round of the 2010 major league baseball draft. However, he chose to attend the University of San Diego to play college baseball. Bryant played at San Diego from 2011 to 2013. In his final year, Bryant won the Golden Spikes Award. The award is presented annually to the best amateur baseball player in the United States. He also won the Dick Howser Trophy, given annually to the national college baseball player of the year. Chicago selected Bryant as the second player in the first round of the 2013 draft. In 2021, the Cubs traded him to the San Francisco Giants. In 2022, Bryant signed a contract to play with the Colorado Rockies.
