Vegas Golden Knights are a professional hockey team that plays in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Golden Knights compete in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. The team plays its home games at T-Mobile Arena, adjacent to the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Vegas Golden Knights entered the NHL as an expansion team for the 2017-2018 season. The team became the first major-league sports franchise of the city.
The Golden Knights achieved great success in their first NHL season. They finished first in the Pacific Division in 2018, and in that year’s playoffs became the first NHL expansion team since 1968 to compete in the Stanley Cup finals. The Golden Knights lost in the finals to the Washington Capitals. The team won the Stanley Cup in 2023, defeating the Florida Panthers, 4 games to 1. Golden Knights stars have included forwards William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault, defenseman Shea Theodore, and goalie Marc-André Fleury.
