Jackson, Lamar (1997-…), is an outstanding quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He is a versatile player, excelling in both passing and rushing.
Jackson began his NFL career in 2018 as a backup player for the Baltimore Ravens. He took over for the injured starting quarterback Joe Flacco later in the season. Led by Jackson, the Ravens went 6-1 in their last 7 games and won the American Football Conference (AFC) North division title. Jackson then became the youngest quarterback to start an NFL playoff game, one day before his 22nd birthday.
Jackson dazzled on the field during his first full season in 2019, passing for 36 touchdowns and rushing for 7. He became the first NFL quarterback ever to collect 3,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in the same season. He led the Ravens to another division title and was voted the NFL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP). Jackson led the Ravens to yet another division title during the 2023 season and won his second MVP award.
Lamar Demeatrice Jackson, Jr., was born on Jan. 7, 1997, in Pompano Beach, Florida. He excelled at football in high school and at the University of Louisville. He won the prestigious Heisman Memorial Trophy, awarded to the most outstanding college player, in 2016. The Ravens selected Jackson in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft.
