Apex Legends is an electronic game in which teams of players battle online. The game was released in February 2019 by the video game publisher Electronic Arts (EA). Apex Legends is a spinoff of the “Titanfall” series of games and includes some of the same gameplay features as “Titanfall.” Because of the violence and intensity of the game, Apex Legends is not recommended for players under the age of 14.
Apex Legends is a first-person shooter game, a type of electronic game in which the player sees through the character’s eyes and the action involves firefights. It is also classified as a battle royale game. Battle royale games involve a large number of competitors who fight to the last survivor. Most battle royale games involve individual competitors. But Apex Legends players compete as part of a team. Twenty teams of three players fight one another until only one team remains. Each player chooses one of several distinct characters, called Legends, each of which has unique skills. The game emphasizes teamwork and communication, rather than solo play. Players can ping (mark) enemies, locations, or weapons, alerting teammates to their position. They can also revive fallen teammates. The speed of play is much faster than that of previous battle royale games.
Apex Legends takes place in an area of the “Titanfall” game universe called the Outlands. Players fight in a region of the Outlands called Kings Canyon. Each three-player squad jumps from an airship at the start of the match, choosing a landing spot on the field of play. Upon landing, players must scavenge for armor and weapons to attack their opponents. Players gain an advantage by finding stronger weapons and defensive upgrades to protect themselves. As the match progresses, the boundaries of the playing field begin to shrink, forcing opposing squads into closer combat.
Apex Legends was created by the company Respawn Entertainment of Los Angeles , California . It is available for both personal computers and video game consoles .
