Wentz, Carson (1992-…), has been an outstanding quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). Wentz became known as an excellent passer whose effectiveness has been limited by injuries.
Wentz began his NFL career as the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016. In 2017, Wentz led the Eagles to an 11-2 start before suffering a season-ending knee injury. With backup quarterback Nick Foles, the Eagles went on to win their first ever Super Bowl championship. In 2021, the Eagles traded Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts traded Wentz to the Washington Commanders in 2022. In 2023, the Commanders released Wentz after he played one season for the team. Later that year, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams. In 2024, Wentz signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Carson James Wentz was born on Dec. 30, 1992, in Raleigh, North Carolina. He grew up in North Dakota. In high school, Wentz played baseball, basketball, and football and was valedictorian (the graduate with the highest marks) of his class. He attended North Dakota State University, playing football there from 2012 to 2015. Wentz led the university to national championships in 2014 and 2015. He graduated with a degree in health and physical education. The Eagles selected him second overall in the 2016 draft.
