Marshmello

Marshmello (1992-…) is the stage name of an American disc jockey (DJ), music producer, and performer. He creates electronic dance music (EDM). Marshmello is known for his bright, over-the-top sounds and for the marshmallow-shaped helmet he wears in public. The performer has refused to reveal his identity, but strong evidence suggests that he is the EDM musician Christopher Comstock. Comstock was born on May 19, 1992, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Marshmello first became popular by sharing his songs online. His breakthrough hit was the single “Alone” (2016). Marshmello began making appearances at nightclubs and music festivals. He released his first album, Joy Time, in 2016. Marshmello became known as an independent artist who collaborates with a variety of other musicians. His hits include “Silence” (2017), with the singer Khalid; “Wolves” (2017), with the singer Selena Gomez; and “Happier” (2018), with the band Bastille.

Marshmello has become an internet celebrity, with millions of subscribers on YouTube and millions of followers on X (formerly called Twitter). In 2019, he staged a concert within the popular online video game Fortnite (2017).
