Kupp, Cooper (1993-…), is an outstanding wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). Kupp plays for the Los Angeles Rams.
In 2021, paired with the Rams’ newly acquired quarterback Matthew Stafford, Kupp authored one of the best seasons for a wide receiver in NFL history. He led the league in receiving yards (1,947), receptions (145), and receiving touchdowns (16). He was only the fourth player in history to top the league in these categories, a feat known as the receiving triple crown. He was named the offensive player of the year. Kupp and Stafford propelled the Rams to victory in Super Bowl LVI. Kupp caught two touchdowns and was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the game.
Cooper Douglas Kupp was born on June 15, 1993, in Yakima, Washington. Kupp was born into a football family. His father, Craig, and grandfather, Jake, both played in the NFL. Several of his other relatives were coaches or high school standouts. Kupp attended Yakima’s Davis High School, where he was a defensive back and a wide receiver on the school football team. He also played basketball for Davis. He graduated in 2012.
Kupp attended Eastern Washington University (EWU), where he set 15 records for the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS, previously called Division I-AA), 11 Big Sky Conference records, and 26 EWU football records. He won the most prestigious award for an FCS player, the Walter Payton Award, in 2015. He graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. In 2020, he was named the FCS player of the decade for the 2010’s. The Rams selected Kupp in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
