Jefferson, Justin (1999-…), is an outstanding wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). Jefferson plays for the Minnesota Vikings.
Justin Joshua Jefferson was born on June 16, 1999, in Saint Rose, Louisiana, a suburb of New Orleans. After attending high school in nearby Destrehan, Jefferson entered Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2017. He played for the LSU Tigers for three seasons. In his second season, he became his team’s leading receiver. In the 2019-20 season, Jefferson had the most receptions and the second most touchdowns in college football. The LSU Tigers defeated the Clemson Tigers in the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship.
Later that year, the Minnesota Vikings selected Jefferson as the 22nd overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. That season, Jefferson broke the record for the most receiving yards for a rookie in the Super Bowl era, with 1,400. Jefferson had the most receptions (128) and the most receiving yards (1809) of any player in the NFL in 2022. He was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press.
During his time with LSU and the Vikings, Jefferson helped popularize the dance called the Griddy. Jefferson learned the dance from his teammates at LSU and performed it in celebration after scoring touchdowns.
