Stefon Marsean Diggs was born on Nov. 29, 1993, in Gaithersburg, Maryland, northwest of Washington, D.C. After attending high school in nearby Olney, Maryland, Diggs was recruited to play football at the University of Maryland. He suffered multiple injuries during his time there that limited his success.

Diggs left college after his junior year to declare his eligibility for the 2015 NFL draft. The Minnesota Vikings selected him in the fifth round, with the 146th overall pick. Diggs quickly became one of the Vikings’ top receivers in 2015.

In 2017, Diggs helped the Vikings win the North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC). In a playoff game against the New Orleans Saints, with the Vikings trailing in the last seconds of gameplay, Diggs caught a pass near the sideline and narrowly avoided two Saints players to score a touchdown as time ran out, giving the Vikings a 29-24 victory. This play became known as the “Minneapolis Miracle.”

In 2020, the Vikings traded Diggs to the Buffalo Bills. That season, he led the NFL in receptions and receiving yards. Diggs helped the Bills win the East Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in four consecutive years, from 2020 to 2023. In 2024, Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans.
